Pilot Talk: Flying the AH-1 Cobra
Brigadier General Michael Aguilar (USMC-retired) is a highly decorated Marine and Gulf War veteran. He will be discussing some of his missions and experiences as a Cobra pilot. During his 31-year Marine Corps career he held a variety of flying and command billets and accumulated over 4000 hours, primarily as an Attack Helicopter Pilot. The Museum has 31 historical aircraft on display as well as hundreds of artifacts from the earliest days of aviation to the present day. Free admission and parking. Open Cockpit Days are held on select weekends from May-September. Check the website for more information. The Museum is aboard Marine Corps Air Station-Miramar. The sentry-free museum entrance is on Miramar Rd., 3.9 miles east of I-805 and 1.3 miles west of I-15. (Look for the Marine Corps and American flags at the entrance.)
