New Energy Initiatives
Andrea Altmann is a Senior Energy Analyst at the San Diego County Water Authority, the regional water agency that provides about 80-90 percent of all the water used in San Diego County. She currently manages a multi-million dollar energy Capital Improvement Program budget, State and Federal energy regulatory engagement, and energy projects that include a 500 Megawatt energy storage facility study, 6 Megawatt floating solar array on a drinking water reservoir, 1 Megawatt battery storage system, and over 2 Megawatts of inline hydroelectric site assessments. In her role, she continuously seeks innovative opportunities to leverage the water-energy nexus to reduce the Water Authority’s energy costs. Ms. Altmann holds a Master’s degree in Sustainability from the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden.
