Poop, Robots, and Supercomputers: A Citizen Science Lecture
7555 Draper Avenue, San Diego, 92037
Cost: Free
Did you know that you have as many (or more) bacterial cells as you do human cells? It turns out that humans, and all mammals for that matter, harbor vast ecosystems composed of microscopic organisms which are critical for health and well-being. In this lecture, Dr. McDonald will discuss his work with the American Gut Project and how he generates data about our microbial partners and how these data are analyzed to answer questions about health, disease, and basic questions about the extent of life associated with humans.
