Training: Hiking Field Survey
Are you an adventurous hiker interested in helping the environment? Get outdoors in the San Diego backcountry and help survey San Diego River tributaries! Join the San Diego River Park Foundation for a special training to learn about invasive and native plant species, local archaeology, animal tracking, and more. Then put your new skills to use in the field.
Participants will work in small groups to bushwhack up to eight miles uphill along creeks and streams while documenting plants and animals. This challenging opportunity is a unique chance to see hidden natural spots in San Diego County. Volunteers must attend one classroom training (either 2/3 or 2/10, 9am-1pm) and one field training (either 2/24 or 2/25, 9am-1pm). Hikes scheduled for 3/24 and 3/25. Info: [email protected].
