Riding the Peace Train
Hands of Peace San Diego will host “Riding the Peace Train” on Sunday, April 29 from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Crossings at 5800 The Crossings Drive in Carlsbad. The 70’s themed event features young teen leaders from Hands of Peace, plus gourmet cuisine, local craft beer and wine, an auction, a magical mystery wall and many other fun surprises. “Riding the Peace Train” directly benefits the Hands of Peace teen leadership program, now in its fifth year in San Diego. The global non-profit organization empowers young people to be leaders of change in their own communities. The centerpiece of Hands of Peace in San Diego is a summer program in Carlsbad that brings together Israeli, Palestinian and American teens for three heart-opening weeks. Through the process of dialogue, participants challenge stereotypes and build an understanding of one another, gaining leadership, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills that last a lifetime.
