3rd Annual City Heights Law Day
On April 28, 2018, the 3rd Annual City Heights Law Day event will be held at the City Heights/Weingart Branch Library & Performance Annex, 3795 Fairmount Ave., San Diego, CA, 92105, and run from 9:30am to 4:30pm. The American Bar Association promotes a variety of Law Day activities. This year’s Law Day theme is “Separation of Powers: Framework for Freedom” takes a nonpartisan look at checks and balances and how that applies to our government. The 2018 Law Day theme intends to go a step beyond what we learn in textbooks in order to underscore the importance of this system of government set forth by the Founding Fathers. Following the opening presentation, there will be talks on various areas of law by local attorneys, a panel discussion about the separation of powers by District Attorney candidates Summer Stephan and Genevieve Jones-Wright, as well as County Board of Supervisor candidates, and an opportunity for members of the public to have a free consultation with an attorney to discuss their legal issue.
