Culinary Historians of San Diego will present “The Surprising History of Wine in San Diego County,” featuring Richard Carrico, who will enlighten the audience with a visual trip through wine’s long county history as he weaves an enlightening tale of vineyards, grape stomping, murders, Prohibition, and the near death and recovery of the county’s wine industry. Richard L. Carrico is an award winning writer, educator, archaeologist and wine maker. He is a lecturer in the Department of American Indian Studies at San Diego State University and a scholar and researcher who has made significant contributions to our understanding of the local Native American and Hispanic cultures.
