2016, PG-13, 111 minutes. Florence Foster Jenkins, a New York City heiress, always wanted to be a concert pianist and play Carnegie Hall. A childhood injury prevented her from living out that dream. Thus, she sets out to sing her way to Carnegie Hall. Given her less than exceptional voice, Florence knows the only way to get there is practice, practice, practice. Her husband supports her venture, and Florence Foster Jenkins' performance at Carnegie Hall becomes a truly historic event. Movie special features begin at 5:30 p.m. The film will begin at 6 p.m. A post-film discussion will take place after the screening. This movie is made possible in part by the Carlsbad Library and Arts Foundation's Robert H. Gartner Cultural Endowment Fund.
