Extended School Partnership Showcase
The Extended School Partnership program invites teachers and students to consider the museum as extension of their classroom by integrating the arts into core curriculum studies. Each school and cohort of teachers works together with museum educators to develop a curriculum that uses contemporary art and the exhibitions on view as a catalyst for both creative thinking and making. This semester students from the San Diego High School of Business and Leadership and the San Diego School for the Creative and Performing Arts had the opportunity to visit the museum both physically and virtually via video tours as they explored exhibitions on view. Students reflected on coming of age and finding one’s voice in today’s political climate. They examined artists’ ability to reflect on philosophical issues surrounding science, society, history, and memory—giving context to social and individual issues. Join us for a celebration of their achievements at this special Showcase event. This program is free to attend.
