3900 Vermont Street, San Diego, 92103
Cost: Free
The Lindbergh Foundation’s Air Shepherd Initiative incorporates the latest technologies in aviation for the sole purpose of preventing large animal poaching. Airborne for various types of operations during the day and night, it is providing eyes in the sky that enable rangers to intervene before a poaching incident occurs. To date with more than 4,000 missions logged, the continuing success is making a very real and measurable difference in favor of wildlife. Presenter Tina Pirazzi is the program director for the program. Her passion in life is supporting program development domestically, with an eye on African operations enabling rangers to intervene before poaching occurs.
