The 9th Vista BBQ Classic is an official Kansas City BBQ Society sanctioned event. More than 40 award-winning BBQ teams from around the country will descend on Historic Downtown Vista on Friday, July 28, starting as early as 8 a.m. to spend up to 24 hours seasoning, smoking, and grilling their choice cut of meats for competition day on Saturday, July 29. Our 2017 award-winning teams will compete for a total of $10,000 in prize money, KCBS points, and trophies.

Attractions include: BBQ sampling, food fest and marketplace, whiskey & cigar saloon, the second annual “Miss Q Classic” beauty pageant, “Kids Q” kettle BBQ contest, a Special Olympics fundraiser featuring a full plate of BBQ for $12, line dancing competition, a DJ and live entertainment featuring mariachi, ballet folkloric, as well as watermelon and pie eating contests. BBQ taste tickets are available for purchase now on the event website or the day of the event at 11:30 a.m. either of the ticket booth locations throughout the event. Tastes start at noon. Each ticket is good for one 2 oz. sample or can be combined for bigger samplings.
