Advocacy: Discussion Panel
Is the concept of advocacy as obscure and elitist as many may think? Come find out how you too have an active role as an advocate in your everyday life! “Advocacy Turned Inside-Out” is a panel on art advocacy. Looking at advocacy as a way to empower, educate, and strengthen their roles in the arts, panelists from a broad section of the arts and culture sector will be discussing how they have used advocacy to promote diversity, inclusion, access, and equity. Participating panelists Patricia Aguayo, Karen Levyszpiro, Yesi Padilla, Omar Pimienta, Robert Rutherford, and Sara Solaimani will share unconventional methods to use advocacy. Through conversation and interactivity we plan to bring awareness to the intersection of labor, access, and inclusion. Moderated by Dia Bassett and Natasha Anderson-Moncrieffe. Performance by Fern St. Circus.
