Scott Marks 2 p.m., Oct. 11
It all began in the summer of 1984 when the Hillcrest community gathered on University and Fifth to celebrate the relighting of the Hillcrest sign. Today Hillcrest CityFest is billed as the “largest single-day street fair in San Diego” and attracts 150,000 attendees.
This year includes 250 artisans and crafters over six blocks, four Artist Alleys showcasing up-and-coming work from local artists, the Furry Fosters petting zoo, and a food court/beer garden. Proceeds go to the upkeep of the Hillcrest sign and beautification projects in Hillcrest. DJs perform into the night.
