8595 La Jolla Shores Drive, La Jolla, 92037
Cost: Free
The American Cetacean Society welcomes Mark Lowry. He specializes in identifying fish from otoliths, and squid and octopus from mandibles (i.e., beaks) recovered from sea lion scat samples. Also, he conducts pinniped population surveys to census the U.S. populations of California sea lions, northern elephant seals, Pacific harbor seals, and Steller sea lions.
