Misty Jones: Evolving Libraries in San Diego
Patrons of the Rancho Bernardo Library are invited to hear about the future of libraries at the annual meeting of the Friends of the Rancho Bernardo Library. The featured speaker at the meeting will be Misty Jones, Director of the San Diego Public Library System (SDPL). She is responsible for 36 library branches, from San Ysidro to Rancho Bernardo. Misty will be speaking about the changing nature of our libraries and their new role as hubs that create evolving interactive communities. Beyond its traditional role, Misty will address how our libraries are now offering gathering spaces for a wide array of community interests, art and music spheres, digital labs for media creation and editing, and resource centers for using evolving technology to help people help themselves.
