The Baltimore Consort will perform a program of sixteenth century English music commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Bard’s death in 1616. Courtly and popular songs and dances of the day are interspersed with music referenced in Shakespeare’s plays Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Midsummer’s Night’s Dream, and As You Like It. This concert is part of the San Diego Early Music Society 2015-2016 season.
