Rolling British Car Day
This event, sponsored by the San Diego British Car Club Council, emphasizes cars in motion, unlike a typical “static” car meet. Over 200 British cars are expected to participate. Enjoy a scenic drive on back country roads to arrive at the final destination, Deer Park Winery, which has a wine tasting bar, an Automotive and Memorabilia Museum, and a small deli.
There are two starting points this year. The southern starting location is at Yanni's Bar and Grill, 12015 Scripps Highland Drive, Scripps Ranch. The northern starting point is Bit O Britain, 1495 Poinsettia Avenue, Vista. 10 a.m. departure. Following directions supplied in the registration package, participants will drive the tour lasting less than two hours. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the lovely tree-shaded grounds at the winery.
Awards will be given for: Best Theme Picnic, Best Club or Group Picnic, Best Vintage Picnic, and Ant's Choice. Food may also be purchased at the winery. All British makes and any cars and motorcycles built in Great Britain are eligible. The British Car Club Council represents a group of San Diego car clubs: the Austin Healey Club, the Bentley Drivers Club, the SD Jaguar Club, the Jensen Owners Club, the SD MG Club, the Rolls Royce Owners Club, Triumph Sports Cars, the Land Rover Club SD, the SoCal DeLorean Club, the San Diego MG T Register, and SD Minis.
