Culinary Historians of San Diego presents Edible Flowers: From Shovel to Blossoms featuring Kitty Morse and Nan Sturman in the Neil Morgan Auditorium.
These local experts will divulge their secrets about growing, gathering, and cooking with edible flowers. A sampling of edible flowers and treats containing them will follow the presentation. Casablanca-born Kitty Morse's career as cooking teacher and author spans close to 30 years. She has authored eleven cookbooks, five on Moroccan cuisine. Her last, Mint Tea and Minarets: a Banquet of Moroccan Memories, was selected as Best Book Arab Cuisine by the Gourmand World Cookbook awards in 2013. Her latest, Edible Flowers: A Kitchen Companion, provides the backdrop for her current presentation. Nan Sterman is a television host, writer of The California Gardener's Guide, gardening coach, designer, and horticulture consultant. The fourth season of her popular series, A Growing Passion, premiered April 7 on KPBS.
