“Ribbon of Dreams: The Cinema of Orson Welles,” a three-month film series in honor of the 100th anniversary of Orson Welles’ birth, including The Lady from Shanghai, The Third Man, and Touch of Evil.
The Third Man: Orson Welles makes the most dramatic entrance in movie history in this evocative potboiler of love, deception, and murder. A pulp novelist (Joseph Cotten) travels to war-torn Vienna, as zithers play and mysteries mount, to discover his friend Harry (Orson Welles) is dead. Co-stars Trevor Howard and Alida Valli.
1949. 104 minutes. Discussion after the film. Third Wednesday of the month. Free admission, free parking, free popcorn.
