Festival Internacional de Fotografía Tijuana 2015
From October 2-30, museums, galleries, gardens, streets, and public spaces in Tijuana will be the location for a program of activities: a photo exhibition, roundtable discussions, workshops, a series of film screenings, a night-time photowalk, etc., allowing interaction between authors, gallerists, students, academics, cultural promoters of the image, and the public in general.
The festival is a platform for reflection on the image and its distinct channels of circulation and exhibition. The goal of this program is to develop, through the theme of “Collections,” a space for dialogue, which will help the dissemination of the distinct artistic and academic forces whose projects have been incorporated as resources or axes of analysis around themes of the archive, recuperation, and memory.
This project is part of the collective national reflection on photography initiated by the Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes through the Centro de la Imagen and their national photo festival, Fotomexico.
