The Tijuana Estuary is home to a number of endangered species, including the Light-footed Ridgway’s Rail (Rallus obsoletus levipes), formerly the Light-footed Clapper Rail. Although it is easy to hear the distinctive clapping call of this rail in the early morning or late afternoon, the bird is quite secretive and sightings are rare. This is your chance to learn the bird's secrets — foraging habits, nesting preferences, and its chance of survival in the face of impending sea-level rise.
