Gail Roberts: Opening Reception
MiraCosta College is proud to present an art exhibit featuring the recent paintings of artist Gail Roberts.
The exhibit will feature paintings based on Gail Roberts’ collection of almost 100 birds’ nests of all shapes and sizes, acquired over 20 years. Intended to protect the birds’ offspring, these architectural feats of strength and endurance contain a surprising variety of materials and are simultaneously precious, delicate, and decorative.
Gail Roberts received her BFA and MA at the University of New Mexico and is a Professor Emerita at San Diego State University. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally including Costa Rica, France, Ireland, Wisconsin, and at various museums and galleries throughout Southern California. Opening reception with talks by the artist at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The show opens February 3 and continues through February 26 in the college’s Kruglak Gallery. The gallery will be closed February 16. MiraCosta College’s Kruglak Art Gallery is located in the Oceanside Campus Student Center, Bldg. 3400.
