Psychological Treatment: When Light Is the Drug of Choice
330 Park Boulevard, San Diego, 92101
Cost: Free
With Gena Glickman, PhD, University of California, San Diego. During the war on drugs in the 1980s, bright white light was used for the first time to treat patients with mood disorders. Interestingly, light works just like a drug in some ways, both in terms of its therapeutic efficacy as well as the dynamics of the characteristic physiological responses it elicits. This presentation will provide an overview of what we know today about light as a therapeutic modality.
