Using Geneology Databases
JewishGen is a website for researching Jewish roots. Our speaker, Warren Blatt, will take us step-by-step through the most popular databases.
Because of its extensive databases of both Western and Eastern European resources, this site is valuable for searching non-Jewish roots as well. It provides a discussion group where you can ask about research methods, family finders, databases with millions of "old country" records, town finders, cemetery records, and more. You will learn how to search the databases and how to add your own data.
Warren Blatt is the managing director of JewishGen, a division of the Museum of Jewish Heritage: A Living Memorial to the Holocaust in New York City.
