Prehistoric Times: The First People of Escondido Creek
Walk into the past and right back into the present with the Escondido Creek October Walk. Learn about prehistoric times, how the indigenous people of the area lived, what kind of tools have been uncovered by archaeologists, and where these first people of Escondido Creek are today.
Your guide is Donna Walker, a native San Diegan who studied history and art at Palomar College in San Marcos where she earned her degree and a certificate in American Indian Studies. Donna volunteers as a trail guide for the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve where she leads interpretive nature walks on a weekly basis. Her love of Native American history, archaeology, and art has enabled her to combine the three in an expression of historical and contemporary drawings with special emphasis in artifact and native plant illustrations.
