City Ballet: Ballet and Beyond
Our 22nd Anniversary 2014-15 Season begins in November with Ballet and Beyond, a program of cutting-edge contemporary ballet choreography by three dance companies.
Jean Isaacs’s San Diego Dance Theater and Malashock Dance join City Ballet of San Diego to offer dance enthusiasts two programs over four days, including three premieres.
Works include Resident Choreographer Elizabeth Wistrich’s C-Squared to music by Charles Wuorinen and world premiere A Life According to Me, orchestrated and adapted by Music Director John Nettles.
City Ballet Principal Dancer Geoffrey Gonzalez has created two premieres: Classified with music by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross and Speakeasy with music by Duke Ellington.
John Malashock favorites include Great Day with music by Judd Greenstein and Silver & Gold with music by Benjamin Britten and George Bizet.
Jean Isaacs’s offerings include When We Meet Again set to traditional Chinese folk songs and O Magnum Mysterium sung live by the Sacra/Profana.
