SilverWood Flute and Piano Duo
SilverWood Flute and Piano Duo at the Carmel Valley Library on May 14
May's free family music program sponsored by the Friends of the Carmel Valley Library will feature SilverWood flutist Diane Wilson and pianist Vania Pimentel in a program of spirited and intense Brazilian music chronologically from the turn of the 19th century into the 20th century. It will include works by Brazilian composers Chiquinha Gonzaga, Pattapio Silva, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Osvaldo Lacerda, and Radames Gnatalli, as well as one by the Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla. The program will last 45 minutes.
SilverWood is a versatile music ensemble, performing in various instrumental and vocal combinations, and playing a vast array of musical genres, including classical, popular, jazz, folk, country, Celtic, and other international styles. It has been performing for public and private events around southern California for 19 years.
