Switchfoot, La Jolla murals, Island fest, Summer film fest, chili cook-off, and summer solstice celebration
Scott Ellis 12:30 p.m., June 21
A solo-exhibition featuring new works by Brooklyn-based artist, writer, and curator Louis Schmidt. Amongst the series are figures, oval shapes, that resemble heads, some with reductive colors gesturing toward skin tones, abstraction, geometric shapes and patterns, poetic fragments, and monochromatic voids. This new body of work is exclusively drawn in pencil, a shift in material that still maintains this transparency of process. Runs through August 11. Reception features live music from Ditches. 760-487-1676.
