The 2013 Fall Concert Series of the City of San Diego Public Library is launching a spectacular year of performances to celebrate the new Central Library.
The December 15 event features Camarada Trio (Beth Ross-Buckley, flute; Erin Breene, cello; Dana Burnett, piano), performing the music of Joseph Haydn, Phillipe Gaubert, and Astor Piazzolla and other Latin American composers.
The remainder of the Fall series features prominent local musicians, including Bach Collegium San Diego, Hausmann Quartet with soprano Ann Moss, Jory Herman and Friends (from San Diego Symphony and Art of Élan), San Diego Master Chorale, and San Diego Children’s Choir.
The Library began its Chamber Music Series in the mid-1950s. Critical and popular response encouraged the Library to increase the scope of the series into its present status of a Fall Concert Series and a Winter/Spring Concert Series. These series are made possible by the Friends of Central Library, the San Diego Public Library matching fund program, and public and private donations.
