Hector Penalosa of Squiddo played bass with influential local punk band the Zeros, who released their debut single in 1977 ("Wimp"/"Don't Push Me Around"). He's declined to take part in most Zeros reunions.
Squiddo frontwoman Maren Parusel formed an all-girl Zeros tribute band in 2007, Wild Weekend, with singer Kelly Alvarez, Melissa (drums), and Kaitlin (bassist for the Atoms).
