Based in Pacific Beach, Samantha Aiken performs original rock/country music with a dash of Texas Tejano.
The Samantha Aiken Band was first formed in South Texas when lead-singer Samantha Aiken was fifteen years old. The group, featuring lead guitarist Rick Mauch (from 1990s Dallas band Savvy), Tony Nicklin (bass), and Kenny Jewett (drums), played dance halls, parties, and community events throughout South Texas from 2011 through summer 2013.
Aiken wrote and recorded a song played on Showtime TV series Strikeforce just after her 16th birthday. The first two albums of all original songs she recorded were Get to You (2012) and Pretend (2013).
In the summer of 2013, Aiken and Kenny Jewett relocated to San Diego, adding local players Will Edwards (bass) and Jon Berghouse (drums) to the band.
