Background:

The Runabouts (no relation to the mid-'60s Cincinnati. garage band) were an early rockabilly band fronted by Johnny Hammer. They released singled on the Kem and Hi-Jinx labels, including the mostly instrumental 1961 track (other than spoken intro and wolf howls) "Lobo" (b/w "After Effects"). Their single "Swamp Water" b/w "Free Loader" is equally well regarded among fans of early psychobilly/surf.
