Background:
Otro Mundo performs a seamless mix of Latin jazz inspired from Brazil, Cuba, and Spain. Coming together through mutual admiration and friendship, Dusty Brough (guitar), Kevin Freeby (bass), and Steve Haney (percussion) decided to form Otro Mundo as a means to express their shared musical vision. The three musicians combine the roots of samba and flamenco, as well as Middle Eastern gypsy, Mediterranean folk, and Balkan music, to create a distinctive world jazz experience.
Members of Otro Mundo have performed and recorded with and for Stevie Wonder, President Obama at the White House First State Dinner, Jesse Cook, Jason Mraz, Virgil Donati, Karl Denson, the Greyboy Allstars, Brand New Heavies, A.R. Rahman, the Oprah Winfrey Show, Ozomatli, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, and the Breakastra. Collectively, the band has toured North America, and Europe.
