With members based in San Diego and L.A., symphonic progressive rockers Mursic has included Anthony Montemarano (vocals, keys), Brian Rumsey (guitar), Ezra Brodersen (bass), Reece Miller (bass), and former Suicide Chords drummer Clay Hackett.
In 2014, Hackett announced his plans to launch a new venture. As he described it, “The Catalyst is an online magazine that covers [San Diego] rock and metal, all the way to the county limits so nobody gets left out.”
The band's sound is characterized by a blend of classical and synthesized keyboard sounds, creating a heavy, operatic rock style. They earned acclaim for their full-length release Oblivion.
In 2025, the band released a newly remastered version of their 2014 album Spawned From A Nightmare.
