Based in Encanto/Barrio Logan/National City, the Deep Ones are four Mexican-Americans who came together for the purpose of preserving rock and roll. Formed in 2009 by Diana Death (the Gory Details, Deadbolt), Hector Peñalosa (the Baja Bugs, the Zeros), Alex Vargas, and Adrian Carrillo (both from Ze Red Lights and Bagdad), the band played its first gig at Wit’s End on Halloween 2009.
