Some trivia about the Staring at the Sun series:

The covers for Volume 9-12 are part of a series spotlighting the work of acclaimed San Diego based comics artists, with Lee Kohse (#9 Kindergoth), Chynna Clugston Flores (#10 Blue Monday) and Batton Lash (#11 Wolff & Byrd) having contributed a cover featuring their characters. Jeromy Cox is scheduled to do the art for #12.

As with most CDs there is a “thanks” section, but there is also a “dedicated to” section, in tribute to all the San Diego musicians who have passed since the previous edition.

Most editions include a vintage, classic track. For example #4 included the Crawdaddy’s debut 1979 single “There She Goes Again,” while #9 featured the Sleazybeats 1997 cut “Phil Spector’s Birthday.”
