Allred wants council to nix deal with Filner
Those who believe that the leaders (political or otherwise) of San Diego have even an iota of integrity must still be in grade school. Certainly by middle school, once they learned the definition of the word, they would have realized that it is a trait that virtually nobody in a position of leadership has. Certainly not in politics, certainly not in the corporate world, and certainly not in the legal field.— August 23, 2013 9:45 a.m.
Motion to quash case against Bob Filner scheduled for September 16
Why would the city drop its lawsuit? They're holding all the cards.— August 23, 2013 9:32 a.m.
DeMaio's men's room masturbation went unreported (updated 8/26)
I'm somewhat curious as to why Dalton waited until now to break the story, if it was so well known around City Hall. What sort of quid pro quo was given so that Hueso and Emerald didn't make a criminal complaint?— August 23, 2013 9:31 a.m.
Nathan Fletcher files for mayor of San Diego
So now that we know who is behind Fletcher, we know who NOT to vote for.— August 23, 2013 9:25 a.m.
Republicans File Suit to Knock Out Political Giving Restrictions
Response to Don Bauder in post #4: The Chargers and Padres wouldn't be among the abused plaintiffs, as it isn't THEIR money that they give to the various political campaigns. It's OUR money, stolen from the taxpayers by the politicians in the first place. And the campaign spending laws haven't prevented Spanos and the Chargers from giving more than $2 MILLION to local Republican candidates over the last few years (source: www.opensecrets.org ). Plus, don't forget-- only the politicians themselves might get in trouble over the bribes (Valerie Stallings); those who MAKE the bribes never even get charged.— December 23, 2009 1:07 p.m.
John Kaheny defends rising pensions in San Diego
What is amazing is that none of the so-called legitimate news stations either can or will cover the amount corruption inherent in our political machines. Thanks for the list, Don. It will be kept and compared to the endorsement list of various candidates and issues. If any of these names appear on the endorsement sheet, that will ensure my vote against it. There was an old saying (paraphrased) that a man is known by the company he keeps. That being said, being one of the Wolverine Network means that you are NOT a standup citizen and should NOT be considered for public office.— October 29, 2008 12:37 p.m.
Loony
Why is it NEWS that the Republican machine will do ANYTHING to cover their corruption and smear the people trying to provide transparency to government?— October 29, 2008 12:30 p.m.
