Coke-Pepsi's discreet war in North County

“No one has ever walked in and asked for a glass of Pepsi. No one!"

“Is Pepsi okay?” are not the words serious Coca-Cola drinkers want to hear in restaurants. So when a Coke-themed diner switched to Pepsi, customers like Oceanside resident Cheri Noel were “not happy.” Last week Noel ...

Oceanside. Where you can go from the beach to enjoying a cold pint of of beer at a local craft brewery. Have a unique bite to eat at the thursday sunset market. Then walk over to the theater and see a blockbuster. You can go back in time and visit the San Luis Rey Mission. Then cruise over to the Oceanside Coaster station and take a ride down to Petco Park for a ball game you'll never forget.

Downtown Oceanside has really grown on me. Such a great, small-community feel!

O'side is the best city in North County. It is simply where the Shine meets the Grime. A prideful local based city. We have everything you could ever want here, Beautiful beach, farmer and sunset markets, plenty of bars and of course the Purple Church. Do yourself a favor and check out the dopest underground clothing store SD has to offer at Granduer in downtown O'side next to Inner World. Come see what The "O" has to offer, but please mind your P's & Q's as the locals don't mind putting in a little work. O'side, come on vacation, leave on probation.

Start your day in South O off right by getting a cup of coffee at The Cup, take a walk on the strand and then get lunch under the pier at The Tin Fish. There is nothing better in the world! Love this little coastal gem!

There was some excitement at the pier on Tuesday when a pier regular caught a 10-foot thresher shark. For awhile, it seemed like he would lose it when the shark got caught in the pilings. However, he was able to bring it up successfully.

Do you know how one rigs up for that? Line test, bait, type of hook? Would love to have seen that one brought in.
