Brown Vetoes Paid Petitioner Restrictions
Guess gov't is getting nervous... Since they couldn't win this way, they're trying another. Have you heard the radio commercial saying that signing petitions WILL put you at identity theft risk? What a bunch of garbage, especially since is paid for by labor unions. They're getting worried that their free ride is up...and hopefully it is!— August 4, 2011 1:30 p.m.

Medical Marijuana Activist Files Complaint Against Anti-Pot Groups
Boy this makes me laugh each time .... The city can be heading towards bankruptcy, the city council is in cahoots with the downtown establishment, city worker pensions are skyrocketing ... and no one cares/comments on these stories. But let them try to take away the MJ, and the potheads come out of the woodwork.— July 20, 2011 12:35 p.m.
The Raid on Redevelopment Funds
"...I believe continuing redevelopment in some fashion is better than pulling the plug on it altogether.." Yes, Jerry. Gotta keep that CORPORATE welfare going somehow— July 13, 2011 12:39 p.m.
DeMaio's Dinero
Not as much as the bullshit that will be coming from the Dumanis camp shortly— July 13, 2011 12:35 p.m.
End of the Trail
Jerry: I used to cut out your columns and keep them in a folder - this was way before they appeared online at sdreader.com. Thanks for the wonderful descriptions. Hang in there!— July 11, 2011 3:18 p.m.
Bidders Check Out Copley’s Library
THat Copley guy is an a$$. Why didn't he donate some of the local stuff (bay map; census) to a local institution so we all could enjoy it?— June 29, 2011 12:44 p.m.
"Paycheck Protection" Measure Gets Lincoln Club Money
This is a start ... Can just imagine the amount of money the labor unions are going to throw at this one to defeat it!— June 29, 2011 12:32 p.m.
New Fees for SD Fire-Rescue
"...and will be applied retroactively..." What?! This is legal?— June 29, 2011 12:28 p.m.
$498,000 Design Cost for new Hillcrest Fire Station
I know this doesn't directly relate - but the Rock Church is having a Do Something day this saturday where they are going to paint, landscape and beautify several local fire stations and the Point Loma community. I attend Rock Church. I told my wife I refuse to help with this one. This "painting, landscaping, and beautifying" of fire stations sounds like the perfect job for those 50+ yr old fireman to be doing. God knows their argument is 50 yr old firemen should be able to retire since they aren't as physically capable as younger ones. Well, this sounds like a great latter career job for them to be doing so they then have to retire at 65.— June 15, 2011 12:35 p.m.
