Bon Temps Social Club Cajun/Zydeco Dance
BTSC Presents Dwight Carrier & the Zydeco Ro DOGGs. Dwight Carrier comes from a long line of distinguished musicians. He is nephew of Roy Carrier, and cousin to Dikki Du and Chubby Carrier. Moreover, the very first zydeco festival, Southwestern Louisiana Zydeco Music Festival, took place in his hometown of Opelousas in 1982.
Dwight's music career began in 1988 at the age of 14 when he and his brother Joseph formed the band Dwight Carrier and the Zydeco Rockers and recorded an album, My Baby Left Me. At age 17 Dwight joined the Creole and blues musician Warren Ceasar's Creole Zydeco Snap Band as accordion player. The band traveled the world for several years, and made multiple appearances at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
In 2008 he formed his current band, Dwight 'Black Cat' Carrier and the Zydeco Ro Doggs.
This band embodies zydeco traditions, but with a unique style infused with blues and R&B.
