Opera NEO: The Marriage of Figaro
Opera NEO, a Summer Opera Festival based in San Diego, is presenting The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart. The premise is Figaro is getting married today, as long as he can keep his fiancée Susanna out of the hands of his boss, the Governor. Together, with the help of the First Lady, they conspire to expose and embarrass the skirt-chasing politician. Mischievous schemes, paternity disputes and mistaken identities take center stage in Mozart’s delightfully wicked masterpiece.
This summer marks the second Summer Festival in which vocalists from all across the US lend their talents to create events such as this one at Crill Performance Hall.
The opera will be performed in two acts, sung in Italian with English supertitles and performed with the the Opera NEO Chamber Orchestra.
