Walmart's Children

Your single; you want to have a child of your own, but you do not want to get married. You have your sperm (or egg for you women) and all you need to do is get the other piece of the puzzle. But wait!! There’s more.

The year is 2080. WALMART is having its Black Friday sale. What does this mean to you if you want your baby, and are willing to pay for it? Here are today’s specials.

Blue Eyes---$400 Boy---------$2000 White skin to light brown skin -----$20000 Right Handed----$800 Height potential---6 ft, 5 inches---$1500 Athletically inclined---$1000 Liberal leaning Potential---$5000 Perfectly shaped ears/eyes/mouth---$2000 Blond headed---$600

So, you can tailor make your child. You could even make him more Caucasian looking, or Asian or Black. It’s your money, and you get to build your idea child.

That future will come. People, even now, love to play games where they are God. That is why these SIM games are so big. It’s your own world you create. People love to adapt their Myspace, or FaceBook, or their Cellphone’s appearance. Altering the world is what we do best, either by polluting it, or shaping it form into what we want out of it.

There will be tons of money potential, and it will happen. But laws will have to be changed, and people will have to adapt their beliefs. Heck, the Catholic Church wants to find ways to adapt its religion to the possibility of alien life somewhere else in this universe. They’ll find away around this one too.

Would you tailor make your child? Would you help make sure that none of your own physical problems ‘crept’ into the final product? Would you, almost quite literally, take the sand from the beach and create your own prodigy
