There is nothing cuter than a well-dressed couple. I found Moira Lewis and Blake Hunter browsing the racks at Anthropologie at Fashion Valley Mall a few days after Christams. Moira is an elementary school teacher while Blake is an engineer.
Blake is a fan of jackets, "I like coats. I got the one I have on at the Gap on Black Friday."
Hunter's boots are Calvin Klein and his jeans are from Target. I'm wondering if he purposely matched his shoes/coat to his hair?
"Most of my clothes are from Spain. I lived there for two years," Lewis tells me, pointing out that her lace-up boots and scarf were purchased there. Moira's dress is from H&M.
I ran into 20-year-old Lauren Geisler and her mom near Nordstrom. Geisler is on winter break from NYU where she is majoring in creative writing. She wore Rock & Republic pants, Steve Madden boots and a Voltaire sweater. Her purse is Loeffler Randall. It was a Christmas gift from her older sister. Lauren's skull knuckle ring is by Pamela Love and her watch is Nixon. It retails for $150
Lauren's favorite wardrobe pieces are her snakeskin and velvet pants. Her biggest fashion pet peeve are booty shorts, "the kind where you can see butt cheeks'" she tells me with a shudder.
When I saw Paige Fulfer walking her fluffy little dog near Zara in Fashion Valley, at first glance I thought she had a large back tattoo. On closer inspection I realized she was wearing a strappy black tank under an open-backed sweater.
The 21-year-old USD student wore a black maxi skirt from the Closet in PB and a sweater from Foreign Exchange paired with a strappy crop top from Brandy Melville. Fulfer's purse is Marc Jacobs and her glasses are Ray Bans.
When Tara Carson told me that she was 34, I didn’t believe her. She looks much younger. Perhaps it's because she owns the skin care company Sincera Natural Skincare.
Carson's bright blue scarf is Free People. Her denim shorts are from Urban Outfitters and her boots are from a vintage shop in Encinitas.
"My Ray Bans and Donney purse were my mom's in the 80's," Carson tells me.
When asked what her biggest fashion pet peeve is, Carson says when people wear pink and black together, "I have a thing against pink. When people combine it with black it drives me crazy."
