Mission Valley mall rats: don't dress like Bill Cosby
Mission Valley shoppers tell us what not to wear
24-year old Naima Mire wants people to stop wearing Bill Cosby sweaters. She isn’t a fan of the latest patterned sweater trend.
“There is a cute way to wear that look—with combat boots, but most of the time people end up looking like a Huxtable or a grandmother. You should not wear patterned sweaters with Uggs. We don’t live in the North Pole.”
Naima is a student at SDSU. Her latest obsession is leather. She has a leather jacket, leather pants, and just bought a leather cardigan from Charlotte Russ.
Naima’s favorite stores include H&M, Charlotte Russ, and Forever 21.
Jennie Campos has a fashion pet peeve: high waisted shorts. The 22-year-old explains that it takes a certain body build to pull off the style.
"Most of the time it makes people's butt look really long and flat. It's not attractive."
Jennie's favorite wardrobe item are her knee-high black boots that she purchased from Hot Topic.
Briana Coleman is a scarf fan. She has over 20 of them.
“I feel like they make my outfits. Without this scarf my outfit would be boring," she tells me.
19-year-old Briana is wearing a necklace and leggings from Forever 21. Her shirt, boots, and Michael Kors purse are from Nordstrom.
Her favorite store is the Closet in Oceanside.
