Chasing Ice contains some images of transcendent beauty displayed for moral purposes. You might not think you want to see a film that seeks to demonstrate the reality of global warming. You might be wrong about that.
Killing Them Softly, on the other hand, wishes it could manage Chasing Ice's comparatively elegant political commentary. The blunt juxtaposition of crooked gamblers on Wall Street and in Katrina-ravaged New Orleans is handled with all the grace of a thug's interrogation.
Oh, and wouldja believe that The Collection wasn't screened? But it's from the writers of some of the Saw movies!
