Are American Engineers in Short Supply?
Its not Racist just because you dont want to hear it. I'm currently seeing these things at my work, and came here out of true curiosity about what I see happening. Before we get started, I'm American Born, but I'm no white boy and I'm certainly not privileged (well maybe compared to Pakistan and India I am, but here, I'm known as poor). I know every programming language fluently, my tainted caress can exploit just about any 'QA Approved' interface, most people are noobs to me. I have years of education, that must be repaid and I'm attempting my big break into Development. Thing is, my company knows me, understands me, and knows that now, I know what I am. Valuable and Dangerous. They wont fire me because they know what I would do to their systems in the wild (that they cant fix(even though I tell them how)). They also wont pay me what I'm worth because that would mean waiting another month to get that new BMW. My point is, I am the American Engineer. I cant even get them to acknowledge this properly. We've got a new manager, who would make Jen from IT Crowd look like a rocket scientist, this joker can barely check his email, but he knows with certainty that all these Indians (Qualcomm washouts) are right for the job. I call bullshit on that. His big mistake is letting us take part in the interview, it allows us to see the kind of imbeciles they are hiring and that they cant answer my questions about simple technologies a US worker would be expected to master before even applying. As for you Mr Senior Dev who thinks we are all racist, I ask you to put that money where your mouth is. Expose your interface to me, and I will destroy it. Then you see if your little H1's can fix it for you, I will break it again, laugh at you, call you stupid, but hey... at least you got a BMW.
