Just after 7:10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, a fire broke out in a two-story storage facility located on the 7500 block of Dagget Street. Firefighters were able to knock down the blaze before it could spread to any of the adjacent units.

Investigators and K-9 units were called in to determine the cause; dogs were sniffing for fuel or other flammable sources that may have been stored in nearby units, according to sources at the scene.

Investigators determined that a cigarette caused the fire. There were no injuries, damage to the building was estimated at $15,000, and loss of personal property was estimated at $8000.
