Wednesday, December 22 The King of Queens

CBS 8 9:00 p.m.

This show is so stupid. I have watched a couple episodes, and the only plank of comedy holding this weak platform together is Jerry Stiller. You have to wade through 20 minutes of crap to get to his two minutes of gold. Even Patton Oswalt is dimmed down by the writers. I heard Leah Remini has porked up to a decent weight, though, and that'll make this worth the effort.

Thursday, December 23 Buffy the Vampire Slayer

UPN 13 7:00 p.m.

I can't stop watching this. What I originally deemed as a "crapfest," I now categorize as "oddly compelling." I had no interest in this during its original run at the turn of the millennium because the corresponding movie was so terrible. The writing on TV is volumes better. The movie's only memorable mark was Paul Reuben's post-masturbation return to Hollywood. And, we're right back to Pee Wee. It's the circle of life, folks.
