Artist Talk: Li Huai
This talk will cover many angles related to aesthetic, social, political and economic issues. As a part of the talk, artist Li Huai will demonstrate Chinese calligraphy as a part of her artistic background and current teaching -- linking everything back to areas of increasing public interest.
Visitors to the gallery will be able to speak with the artist and ask questions about the collection of works which will be on display at Sparks Gallery as part of the exhibition You Fascinate Me! from March 11 to June 11. Works include Chinese ink & acrylic on paper, acrylic on canvas, and 24 karat gold leaf covered birchwood "religious icon" panels, handcrafted using 13th-century techniques. Refreshments served at 6:30pm. Talk will begin promptly at 6:45pm. Parking is most available at the Park It On Market parking structure at 614 Market Street for $1 per hour.
