Climate Engineering Mirror Event
The event brings together experimentalists in the fields of art and science. Working in groups, they will create descriptions of desirable experiments on the material and the imaginary of the air, atmosphere, and the climate. The event aims to be a reflection on the process of experimentation especially as related to emerging technologies. The event is a clone of a workshop in Potsdam that includes scientists and engineers in the field of climate engineering. The La Jolla mirror event aims to explicitly contrast imaginaries of the future coming from inquiries in different fields. By broadening the range of what we imagine we are broadening the scope of futures that can be enabled through experimentation. The collaborative work is performed in the public and the public is welcome to observe and engage with the experimentalists. The event takes place at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Pawka Green. flightphase.com/machineformakingthefuture.
